Amanda Barragan has been the 4th–8th grade Science Teacher at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School since 2020. She holds a Master’s Degree in Multiple Subject Teaching from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Children’s Art from Cal State Northridge.
Ms. Barragan leads a hands-on, student-centered Science Lab where curiosity, creativity, and collaboration thrive. Through inquiry-based instruction, the 5E model, and STEAM-inspired project-based learning, she provides differentiated, engaging experiences that empower students to think critically and solve real-world problems.
Her classroom emphasizes structure, responsibility, and independence through clear systems, visual checklists, and enrichment stations. Students explore science using real tools, collaborative investigations, and creative design challenges.
Ms. Barragan is passionate about building confident learners who take academic risks, care for their environment, and grow as thoughtful young scientists.
